Our new integration with Google Ads uses the Google Ads API to push Clicks to match against conversions, and the first step is to create a Call Tracking conversion in Google Ads.
Before you start, you must enable auto-tagging in your Google Ads Account so that the Google Click ID (GCLID) can be used to push the conversion back into Google Ads. For instructions on how to check if auto-tagging is enabled, please refer to this Google Ads article here.
To create a Call Tracking conversion measurement, please follow this instructions:
Step 1: In your Google Ads account, click on ‘Tools & Settings’ tab in the top grey bar, then under the ‘Measurement’ column click ‘Conversions’
Step 2: Click the blue ‘+ New Conversion Action’ button in the top left-hand corner of your Conversion table, and add a new conversion as per below:Step 3: The Conversion settings on the below page are up to you, but take note of the Conversion Name, as this conversion name is to be inputted in a later step:
Step 4: Once you’ve pressed the blue “Create and Continue” button, the following screen is revealed. No changes are required other than pressing the blue ‘Finish’ button.
Step 5: On pressing the blue ‘Finish’ button, you’ll be redirected back to your ‘Conversion’ table which has your new conversion listed. Please click on your new Conversion to reveal its settings and provide us the following two pieces of information for connecting up our Google Ads Integration to your Google Ads account:
